Crutches

When it comes to crutches
there are many types
to help us bear the weight.
Some can really help us,
then there are those
that are not so great.

Some are made of wood,
and then there's those of metal.
Some are made of liquid,
and some are made of smoke.
Some are made of powder,
and some spring from joke.
Some are fashioned from love,
or the one's of polished id.
Some are made of faith,
and others made of treats.
Some are made of rubber,
but mine are more concrete.

I walk through life supported
by the phrases I create.
And on these crutches,
crafted just of words,
I can travel many worlds
from a sitting state.
