I Wish
A list poem, of sorts, written for the Writers' Cramp

I wish
To generously slather words
On a page,
Like mayonnaise on a sandwich.

I wish
My words once written,
From a carefully crafted, eclectic palette,
Tempt each soul so
They bask in their skilled oration.

I wish
Complimentary light,
Weight and measure,
Be given,
Be shared equally,
Aesthetically,
Enthusiastically,
None be limited,
Misconstrued
Given the limits and qualms of mortal definition

I wish,
Penmanship aside,
The complex elegance of language
Outlast,
Outshine,
My every effort,
The banes,
Of my existence
