Bliss Denied
A poem about loving someone with all your heart but always being just friends

I lay alone here in my bed,
Your spirit lies beside me,
My soul complete, at one with you,
My life from pain is free.

My heart is mended, made complete,
My soul no longer hollow,
You made me yours, I made you mine,
Lead, and I shall follow,

My dreams no longer torture me,
No longer scar my mind,
I know you're always there for me,
And I for you in kind.

Every day I see your face,
I love you even more,
And now I know you love me too,
Happiness fills my core.

Then I awaken from this dream,
Ejected from true bliss,
I'd trade my life and all I have,
For just one loving kiss.

Every night I'm back there,
Within your loving embrace,
And every morning i wake up,
You're gone without a trace.
