In That House of Shadows
A poem about a dream I had and have elaborated on.

I awoke today from transparent sleep,
From a disturbing dream,
Through that house I did creep,
That residence of seemingly shadows,
And the ghosts that haunted them,
In pursuit of evidence,
The ghastly thing I found,
Made me so nauseous,
The horrid smell,
I turned away and fled,
And into an open room I ran,
And there he sat asleep,
I needed to be cautious,
To not stir him from that still frame,
Or I won’t be able to get away,
I escaped through the door,
Into the afternoon air,
And fell among thorny bushes,
Cutting my arms and legs,
And catching my hair…
That is when I stirred,
And became aware that it wasn’t real,
Although I couldn’t shake that sense of corruption,
I went throughout the day,
Suddenly it was triggered back to my mind,
As sharp as I vividly remembered it,
Why is it still on my mind?
A premonition I felt deep in my heart,
I’m ready for this to be over.
