All I Could Ever Need
This is a poem about wishing someone would want you.

My heart would be prettier if it wasn’t broken
My world clearer without tears in my eyes
My smile would be wider if there was truth behind it
My day brighter if you heard my cries

A faded brightness illuminates me
A face pale as the moon
And hair as deep as the darkest night
Flows around it to consume
And stars gently sprinkled amongst the void
Are snowflakes within her hair
Feeling at home with the chill in her voice
Unable to fog the surrounding air
But something still beats beneath this coat of frost
A heart like any other
Pumping blood through the coldest of veins
A warmth she hopes to smother
The fire and frost mix and mingle
Forming the tornado that is her soul
Beautifully unique in perfect instability
But never mine to unroll
Solely enthralled with what I cannot have
Loneliness takes its toll
A thousand curses to what I cannot be
And the knowledge I’ll never be whole

A would do anything to be in your heart
I’d beg and cry and plead
Because if you would just be mine
I’d have all I could ever need
