DANCIN' IN THE KITCHEN
Such a pity, my love has two left feet. He can't jive, boogaloo, or keep a beat. Yet, cuttin' the rug I've not been missin'. We just do our dancin' in the kitchen. Sweet, aching tango on the radio, the bandneon's rich, trembling vibrato. Gliding the floor without inhibitions, we just do our dancin' in the kitchen. Wearing only an apron tied round his waist, this clumsy rumbero does hip rolls with grace. No judges, no points, nothing's forbidden, we just do our dancin' in the kitchen. Such a pity, my love has two left feet. We just do our dancin' in the kitchen. 8/30/06 Just informed this won a poetry contest at moontown Cafe! ![]() Author's note: a bandneon is an Argentinian concertina played for the tango.
