he sits on the couch
facing the west window the parisian winter comes to an end remember to put out seeds for the birds he is relaxed after a morning of letters sipping expensive chinese white tea from a special porcelain bowl blue silk dressing gown, shower later a gold-set emerald in his ear salt and pepper beard needs trimming will do before lunch with friends cinema afterwards the telephone rings long distance love instant smiles waiting for news hasn't been too long this time unpredictable foreign telephones! instant smiles as they speak of love of holiday projects of new ideas found here and there occupying the weeks until his return the white tea cools now his ardor has accelerated and he sits with pen in hand writing words of love this time instead of dissatisfied impatience waiting for simple dreams to come true ten minutes sunday morning 19 march, 2006
