Who Dares To Soar
I heard an eagle cry and thought on whether I should tell my story of the feather, Embellish it to make it fanciful, Not under false pretense of some reality. A tale of wonder with wings to give it flight Upward, outward, onward To what could be, what might be. Our common matters decorating other halls, A different gallery unlike our own, Marvels framed in new possibilities, Spectacles to amaze and inspire those who yearn To escape the cages of conformity For the vastness of enormity Way beyond this aviary, on wings uplifting, Transporting, transcending, transforming To the grandiose aspiration, A thermal rise lifting up who dares to soar, Who dares to believe and enter heaven’s open door, Than to merely live as dashes on the road.
