wrong turns haunt me yet
taking a chance with this new love that was never meant to be slipping in the labyrinth of confused emotion, falling, crashing headlong into my tears; boisterous echoes of the past resemble the back lighted memories of tomorrow there is no longer any calm when it rains everything grows but my heart the open fields lead nowhere and everywhere the horizon melts into time, fate's unique opening has forsaken me immobile, I am disconnected with today shackled to the past incapable of looking towards a future whose visions clearly haunt my dreams; those shadows overtake me grown almost as imposing as my nighttime memory at best my regrets are semi-sweet, accepting today's destiny until the bitterness wears off best regrets 24 march, 2006 (inspiration : Lotus position) Second Prize in Lotus Notes: A Poetry Challenge
