Almost Midnight
Romantic poem about not wanting to fall asleep.

Wrap your arms tighter, shelter me from all fear.
Nightmares flee from my mind, when're you are near.

Snuggle up closer - skin touching skin,
Keep moving that hand, it'll get hot in here again.

Long, slender fingers brush curls from my face,
Breathing getting heavier, we'll ne'er sleep at this pace.

Soft words whispered in the air by my ear
"I love you" ... "rest now" ... "morning's almost here."

The sandman reaches for my hand - I clasp tightly to yours.
I still feel your presence as dreamland opens it's doors.

Your love follows behind me though we leave our bodies behind,
Making love once again on a bed of petals in my mind.
