i. diet tritina
I simply can't swallow anything else, no
impossible to avoid ingestion any more
laced with a Martini, inevitable zucchini
breakfast and Puccini, muffins stuffed with zucchini
I should not have agreed, but sworn a forceful "no"
out! green vegetables, to eat chocolate once more!
cursed diet! the pounds melt away no more
welcome linguini, exit sweat peas and zucchini
greenery abundant, I shout a resonant "no"
adieu sweet bikini!, but no more zucchini, please!

ii. the dirge
no more zucchini please, I am still not melting away
I'll not see another day, overweight is here to stay
how can this happen to me, this constraint has never worked,
doctor says "eat like a bird, avoid looking at Death's smirk"
I did not try hard enough, in six months nothing was lost
the pounds still stick with such ease, my dear life this may now cost

iii. conversational count up
Sir?
More wine?
With pleasure!
Some potatoes?
Yes, and some bread too,
No more zucchini, please.
That's the special offer, sir.
Maybe, but see the red spots here?
Oh! Should I call the doctor right now?
No, I just need to avoid the courgettes!
