starry skies, the midst of the night
I walk alone, lost in thought
a lone owl takes swift flight

by solitary promenade, I know not fright
though my emotions are overwrought
starry skies, the midst of the night

answers I seek, when the moment be right
in this calm, here is where they are sought
a lone owl takes swift flight

clouds appear, against shadows I must fight
douting, I stop, this battle I have already fought
starry skies gone, the darkness of the night

a lone nightingale trills his song out of sight
rousing lessons of beauty I was once taught
a lone owl takes swift flight

clouds go away, this eve is lit by moonlight
my midnight stroll has to me success brought
starry skies, the mist of the night
a lone owl takes flight
