Of Winter on the Appalachian Trail
The AT at the end of Winter. It showed it's quiet beauty and reflective personality.

Frozen lake water
Sings the song of the one sun
Bending back and forth

Snowy mountain trail
One day soon your green will grow
Water turns to life

Perched on mountain
A view for winged creatures
Wingless I give thanks

Each day I slow down
Practice appreciation
Now I see my life

Heavy like the earth
Vibrations through my still legs
Strength of all the trees

A high melody
Compassion in my heart song
With every breath, peace

Inhaling cold air
Winter’s sweet subtle beauty
I take it in me
