Calm Before the Storm
by MIKEL
Rated: ------ | Poetry | Environment | #1093030
Have you ever seen a storm form, play it's course and leave a fresh earth behind?

The ecstasy of the ocean flowing.
White trails form upon an azure surface.
A distant jib begins to wane,
upon an ever-changing sea.
Then calm sets in.

Darkening clouds take a menacing tone.
As the winds increase and begin to howl,
trees, straight and tall, begin to bend.
Lightening seen and thunder heard.
A storm begins to form.

Furry is released upon the unsuspecting.
A menacing monster is on the prowl.
Its destructive powers unleashed,
The waters churn and overflow. The land,
returns to its natural state.

Clouds, once wet, are wrung completely dry.
The sun’s rays begin to shine upon the earth.
A fragrant breeze blows with sensuous smells
of perfumed flowers and of freshly cut grass.
A new day dawns.
