Through the eyes of a child, life is simple
Through the eyes of a child, life is new
Then times are sad, they don't have a clue

When poverty strikes;
on tattered hearts
bells shine anew
Children sometimes visit
the lonely and the blue.
Bringing smiles and open doors
It brings about a light that's new.

Through the eyes of a child,
the elderly are wise
having much to share in their lives.
Through the eyes of a child.

Through the eyes of a child daytime is safe, darkness brings a mysterious fate.
Through the eyes of a child,
nestled all in their bed,
Sweetest dreams, of wonderous things
floating through their heads.

So remember the brightness,
and the glow, and
the spirit that you know;
in the eyes of a child.
