My mind won’t stop
And my body hurts I just want the peace and safety Of knowing that I’m home This isn’t what I dreamed about When I dreamed of my home But we’ll make do with this Two bedroom apartment that I’ve been shown I’ll do the best I can For my little family It’s not the way I planned it When I planned for them and me How do I know? That I’m doing right by them Raising them all by myself Is a far cru from my heaven Where’s the silver lining On that fluffy white cloud All I’ve got is what I’ve earned All I get is what I’m allowed So I’ll do what I can To make the best of what I’ve got I’ve got my two wonderful boys And to me that’s a lot. I’ll raise them the way I know And pray they grow into great men Give them all the love I’ve got in me ‘Cuz that’s all that matters in the end. Written by Zelina Dunn April 8/06
