JUST CAN’T FIND THE WAY

Since you went away and left me
There is so much I miss,
The smell of you close to me,
Your sweet and tender kiss.

I remember well those words
Whispered from your lips,
As your hands slid down my body
Resting gently at my hips.
~
You told me how much you loved me,
That you would forever stay,
Then met up with another guy,
Turned your back and walked away.
~
Left me here with memories
That I doubt will ever fade,
Breaking those words you said,
In all the promises you made.
~
Still I know I love you
And will until I die,
I tell myself I’ll forget in time,
Knowing that is just a lie.
~
Thought you were my angel
Sent from up above,
Never thinking I would lose you,
There could be no truer love.
~
You’ve broken all my dreams,
Made my loving all in vain,
I look now at a future filled
With nothing more than pain.
~
The day you chose to leave me
Now so many years ago,
In my mind as fresh as yesterday
And I still miss you so.
~
Age rests now upon my face,
My hair has turned to gray,
I still cannot forget you,
Just can’t find the way.
