I never hear him speak…
I never hear him speak…

The Lord is my Shepherd
With him I do confide
I tell him about secret things
How I cheated, how I lied

I tell him of the Demons
How the flesh is sometimes weak
I tell him how I listen
But never hear him speak

I tell him my devotion
Has fallen through the cracks
And speak then of this evil world
Of what it needs, what it lacks

I tell him of the violence
Of society’s grim decay
Yet his reply is silence
Still nothing does he say

I tell him of the murderers
The thieves, the pimps, the gangs
I remind him of the Devil's work
And ask if these bring him pain?

I tell him of all the wantons
Aborting life just as it begins
But will they see the flames of hell?
Or were theirs just venial sins?

I tell him of the soulless,
Who wage the war within
And what about the faggots
Or man redefining sin

I tell him how that murder
Is no longer a mortal crime
He forgives, if the courts approve
Or it’s an enemy during wartime

I tell him of the holy men
Preaching what once was written
But are these his words they profess
Or are we just a world priest-ridden

I ask what he sees from heaven
And does it make him cry?
Sending down his only son
Just to watch him die

The Lord is my Shepherd
But he must be fast asleep
For wolves are hiding in the flock
And are eating all the sheep
