JUST A LITTLE LIE “Oh, for an ode,” he cried out to the wind, “Something to ease this aching heart’s pain.” He knew without doubt it was he who sinned. Apologies crowded into his brain. He paced as he cried and sat when he sighed, He moaned and he groaned and tore at his hair. He knew in an instant he should have lied But the words spilled out and hung in the air. She looked at him with eyes turning cold, Then turned with a jerk and just walked away. He rose with resolve and knew he would fold. His arms reached out and begged her to stay. “I’m sorry, I was wrong, the dress is fine Now can we please, tonight, go out and dine?”
