OVER THE HILL About growing old, I do not fret But there are things bothering me, yet. Could be a little fear of advancing age, Denouncing youth as I turn another page. Enough of the fretting, won't help at all! Forgive me if I start to stutter and stall; God give me grace as my hair turns white, Help me to make it through another night. I will be a bit eccentric when I'm old, Just never remembering what I'm told; Keep the faith, some things are gone, Like patience and memory, but love lives on! Must you stare at my wrinkles that way? Not a one out of place, whatever you say! Overweight but eating is what I do best, Patience is needed, my aging request. Quickly time flies, where does it go? Resting is more fun than going to a show. Seventy years I've been here on earth Trying to live life for all it's worth! Unless I find the fountain of youth. Very good chance what you see is the truth. White-haired and wrinkled, not feeble yet, X-rays show I'm still a pretty good bet. Yesterday's gone but tomorrow will come, Zeroing in on what's still to be done! Countrymom Turning 70 on May 7th! 4/30/06
