IN GOD I TRUST


I saw Heaven in her eyes last night,
A glow emitting from her face.
The grandest and most glorious sight,
A vision no one can erase.
~
Then upon my heart a branded sign
Was burned so deeply there within.
It could have only been God’s sunshine,
Heat of that feeling once again.
~
Who is it that controls the sunshine?
Who is it that controls the rain?
Who put the brand on this heart of mine
Without causing me any pain?
