Why have you gone so far away from me?
Answerless questions, till the end of time,
I ponder in silence, solutions flee,
why father left, has no reason nor rhyme.

Childhood suffering never got any less,
why have you gone so far away from me?
I cried, ranted and raved, all in a mess;
absent, my pain you did not care to see.

We're both men now, still can't talk openly
you've nothing to say, I'm still in the way.
Why have you gone so far away from me?
Simple answers would indeed make my day.

If you lay dying, your son you summon,
and I were to come to you quietly,
I would still ask you only one question:
Why have you gone so far away from me?
