The Highway
This is a poem about feeling all alone

The highway, emptyness
A ribbon of black
Through the vast expanse of nothingness
All is dead, everything is the same
Tires screech across the surface and no one hears
An endless stone river that extends east to west

The highway
The barren expanses around it
They are all the same
And the night comes to consume the day
The pain I feel comes from the highway
I am alone and that will never change
