One Day

One day, I shall run out of sweet words to say.
There’ll be no more poems for you to read,
no more proof of my love for you to appreciate,
no more words to make you heart melt.

One day, I might not have anything nice to give you anymore.
There’ll be no more pennies in my pocket,
and no means to hand you something
wrapped in a lavish sheet and tied with a gold ribbon.

One day, my youthful glow will fade.
My skin will turn rough,
my body will sag,
and my scent will become foul.

But I pray one day,
that even all of these happen,
you’ll find a reason to love me still...
to make the spark in your eyes stay
and for our love to never fade away.
