Thank You Notes
Quizmo LaGrande I have a stack of them to write, Empty cards upon the desk, With every good intention To send thanks in odd burlesque. They sit there by my favorite pens With envelopes, just right, Sporting sappy pictures To express my thanks and plight. “Thank you for the flowers, They brightened up my day! Each hour I’m getting better,” Is what they ought to say. “Thanks for your good wishes All the cards you sent were grand. I appreciate your efforts, Such lovely pictures from my fans!” Why can’t I just get to it? It’s not hard, I understand, To write a little something On real paper with this hand. So I shuffled them about (That was yesterday, you know) When I thought of my bad habit Of procrastinating so! * * * A quatrain written for "SLAM!"
