the lavender route
we all need to escape sometimes

a yearly pilgrimage
towards peace

follow the lavender route
needing authenticity
coral beaches
dragonflies
sailboats
motionless for hours
then at sunset
racing to catch up with the horizon

fortified villages
cobblestone roads
the calm lake life
fishing
siestas amidst
fields of sunflowers
inebriating poppies

thumbing a ride through
evergreen forests
a silver fox darts
dawn on horse back
towards the mystery of
secluded waterfall
deep turquoise pools
sunrise dreams

then coming home
will be a haven
