beauty hypnotizes
fire and ice
ashes, melted snow
unsure footing
swirling psychedelic colors
a land of possibility

schizophrenic terror
waits in ambush
stalking while
babbling
each child speaks a different tongue
communicating easily, hands flash
like her angry eyes
before the war

he comes to play
unaware of his size
when he laughs
his breath of fire
reminds them of the war
they flee, wings flapping he overcomes
innocently
today's casualties

he remained in the story book
forever upon a time
afraid outside
the war continued
with fiery eyes
screaming never needs translation
the meek fear, learn silence
the reward of strength
is learning
to fear
never taught love
but the hate
found in her dragon' s eyes
