Fixed
The meteor does burst then disappears It’s glory will a blinking second last, Across the sky it burns itself to dust, A fleeting flitting flicker flashing past. The star shines on and on o’er many years And faithfully remains a point of trust, Upon which fixed a navigator guides, A shining beacon given true and just. The Word of Truth, a compass to our souls, Endures, remains, withstands the darkest night. The Light of God reveals and shows the way, Our path is clear and we’re equipped with might. Integrity withstands the sweet allure, For fixed on God, our hearts, our lives, are sure. * * * * Written 9000 feet high in the heart of The Rockies, while hiking and camping in the high country of Colorado on a cold, wintry night in which there was a resplendent display of a most spectacular starry sky. Finished later in a warm cabin nestled by a fire of sweet smells.
