Deception's Shroud
There is a real deception in life that allures and blinds.

Deception’s Shroud

The sudden relinquisher of forbidden secrets hides
In the plain shadows of day, between the rays of light
Bending, twisting, conforming, weaving
A tapestry of deception, the shroud of the artificer,
The thick blanket of unwanted warmth in the sweltering heat,
Somewhere between the seams of reality and façade,
In the depth of the scorching haze.
Flee now, before the smoke seizes you in its hands,
Before it sticks its burning fingers in your eyes,
To blind you and cause you to perish.
The light awaits, the ransomed rescue not far removed,
They cut away deception’s dark tapestry
Unraveling the haze in dissipation’s anticipated relief,
Annihilating the unclean taint of smoke’s dark tendrils
That made you fight for every painful breath of understanding.
Breathe in the fresh air, breathe it in deep,
Feel the surge of the strength of the Almighty.
You are a rescuer now, a cutter, a dissipater,
A bringer of cool refreshment and good air.
Sever the ties to deception’s shroud and show them where he hides
In the plain shadows of day, between the rays of light,
Sever it all, shred it, tear it up, rip it apart,
Expose him, and pull them out of the fires.
