Movie Magic
Whatever happened to 'The Golden Age of Hollywood'?
Rated:
E
by
Avg Rating: (4)

Looking back through the years
all those fine actors and actresses.
Musicals and melodramas,
tap shoes and backing crews.
Shining lights and a
million magic moments.

Leading ladies,
lighting up the screen.
Hayworth, Monroe, Hepburn, Kelly.
Screen goddesses,
always looking a
million dollars.

Curtain calls.
Dressing rooms filled with
Edith Head costumes.
Visions of beauty in
satin and velvet;
gliding across that silver screen.
Lights, Camera, Action!

Hollywood heroes,
dashing and handsome.
Gable, Cagney, Stewart, Wayne.
Rugged of jaw and
stiff upper lip.
Always there to save the day,
Riding up in a
Blaze of Glory!

Where did it all go,
the glitz and glamour of
yesteryear?
When did we stop believing?
in all the
razzamatazz?
Now it’s all just a memory;
that Golden Age of Hollywood!

Aged reruns flow across our
plasma screens.
All the oldies but goodies,
still alive in our hearts;
but slowly sinking,
eclipsed by a new age.
Hi tech movie epics;
million dollar, computer generated
special effects.
But like the old song says,
‘That’s Entertainment!’
