Heaven Called
A man talks of his unwillingness to give up his love, even to heaven.

Heaven called the other day,
They said they want their Angel back.
Without your beauty, grace and charm,
There seams to be a void, a lack.

But I told them “Well you cant have her”,
“She’s mine for now and evermore”.
Well let me tell you they weren’t happy,
They came and tried to break my door.

I locked the locks and latched the latch,
Certain they would not catch you.
But they continued in their persistence,
Insisting that there cause was true.

Not for one moment, not for one second,
Would I allow your quick capture.
You are my one, my only sweets,
Your love affords me constant rapture.

Their angry screams then turned to words,
Promising gifts and untold wealth.
“Don’t you get it!” I now yelled back,
I have my love, my Angel and health.

Seeing my love for her was pure,
And my will too strong for them to break.
They flew back up into the sky,
And vanished inside heaven's gates.

So now you know that I am yours,
From now until the end of time.
The fullest depth of love I hold,
Can’t be expressed in this small rhyme.
