It's Over...
Losing battle with lung cancer, my grandmother passed away.

Everyday the pain grew worse,
her disease too much to bare.
Cancer eating her body away and
she's lost all of her hair.

Morphine drips no longer help
to ease her cringing pain. Seeing
how she suffers so just seems so
inhumane.

No more strength to get out of bed
or lift her weary head. Not another
bite she takes it's feeding tubes instead.

Skin and bones are all you see beneath
those sunken eyes. No more words she
speaks at all only God can hear her cries.

Oxygen to help her breathe her lungs they
are so weak. Getting better and finding
a cure, her chances are so bleak.

She wonders why death hasn't come and taken
her away. Every day she opens her eyes
it's much to her dismay.

A bottle of pills on the table left beside
her bed. "Dear God please forgive me" are
the last words that she said.
