the sculptor

you whittle away
at a block of dead wood

you shape a face
create a line, a mood

you give new life
to things misunderstood

The painter

with blank canvas
and bold strokes

with rainbow colors
and fine touches

with different eyes
and deeper vision

you paint a picture
of a far horizon

only you can really see
the rest of us must guess
