Revenant
a poem on returning to life

Revenant

Strange as it may seem,
I hereby must redeem
myself and start afresh -
this time in bod'ly flesh,

no more spectral hiding,
no more fearful biding
of time - space and light
will henceforth be my right.

With cunning sleight of hand
and gestures great and grand,
I will amaze, perplex
my queen's loyal subjects

And if I should by chance
your dreary life enhance,
no greater joy I need
than laughter loud - agreed?
