If you believe...
poem on fairytales and love

If you believe...

If you believe in fairy tales,
pray, where does that leave me?

I am no princess, sweet and fair,
nor ogre, elf or wizard be

I cannot speak in feathered song,
I cannot make the sky all wrong,
I cannot lay a spell on you,
I cannot make myself see-through

If you believe in fairy tales,
pray, where does that leave me?

I am only human, weak,
but love you all the same, you see...
