Little Girl
child abuse

She sits all alone her tears
falling down. Her pretty pink
dress all smudged from the
ground.

She knows he'll return soon
and continue to drink. She
will be quiet, to scared to
blink.

Little girl all black and blue,
tell me, tell me, who did this
to you? But no one asks and no
one cares, they simply pretend
they're not aware.

The months go by, the beatings
to. How much longer can this
continue? She goes to school
everyday but not like the other
kids wanting to play.

An escape for her. A place to
flee. Why oh why is this happening
to me? Then one day no visit
to class, her body is found on a
green patch of grass.

Her dress is all tattered her
curls now a mess. The father that
loved her now beat her to death.
