Freedom Isn't Free
There is a price for freedom, but we may not want to think about that.

The right to vote, the right to protest
They were bought with sacrifice,
I must stand up to confess

To speak freely or to choose your own way
They were bought with sacrifice,
Yesterday and now, today

To fight for others' freedom or just sit by,
They were bought with sacrifice,
Soldiers are willing to die

Freedom to insult or praise soldiers who fight,
They were bought with sacrifice,
Blood spilled in the cold dark night

Freedom to pray or to turn away from the Lord,
They were bought with sacrifice,
The thrust of a sharp swift sword

To be free of the bondage of sin or stay bound
They were bought with sacrifice,
Nailed to a cross, freedom's sound
