As Darkness Falls
Trees whisper, rustling messages, telegraphed in fluttering, foliaged beauty, echoing discordant sighs, weeping, claiming the night for their pleasure. Hands of dusk entice the sun to lie within their darkening grasp, hypnotizing its radiance to slumber while twilight broadens, enveloping the rouged horizon. The heavens begin their ballet, quickening eventide toward full dark, the vaulted firmament bestowing clusters of brilliance, diamonds, priceless, and unattainable Opalescent shimmer of a distant moon, as glorious as a precious pearl cast upon a velvet cobalt sea, swims before a sleeping world. Silence ensues, blanketing the singing of the day, creatures hidden among shadows begin a restless dance within this encroaching veil. Perfumed zephyrs sweeten the landscape of fading dreams, a tangible kiss of final repose, as darkness falls.
