My favourite jigsaw puzzle as a child was a Peter Pan one, which I remember being round. It featured all the characters of the Disney version of Peter Pan: Peter, Wendy, John, the little boy whose name I can't recall, the Lost Boys, the mermaids... and the Native Americans.
This was the part I loved. It was the beautiful daughter that really caught my eye. Her hair was glossy black and her clothes were gorgeous. I wished more than anything that I was the daughter of a Native American chief and could look like her. Sadly, I think this jigsaw has been donated to the local hospital by a parent who didn't realise how special it was to me. This awakenes mixed feelings in me: sadness that it's gone, and gladness that other children will have the pleasure of seeing the picture when they've completed the puzzle. Jigsaws are always fun to do, and there are many beautiful ones but I'll never forget that first favourite.
