My Medusa

My, oh my
she has a look about her,
my Medusa.
Her dark heart
is guarded,
her beauty unfounded
and I would stop in my tracks
with one look.

Her wild hair is mesmerising,
curls and colours
in all directions,
but no snakes in sight
like in the books.

My, oh my,
I’ve often been frozen,
stunned and stuttering,
what a beautiful girl I see,
finding myself
unable to breathe.

Look a little closer
for sin and stone,
a little desecration
and a little destruction.

My, oh my Medusa
likes a game,
likes to gaze upon
those who wish
to touch her heart,
she’ll stop you
from getting too close,
keeping herself apart
from the rest of the world.

My Medusa,
how I wish
for beauty like hers
but my oh my
she's losing it now,
the curse of sin
and now she has to guard herself.

My, oh my.
