For the red, white and blue
Inspired by my time in the Army and people that I was friends with who died in Iraq.

For the Red, White and Blue

To my love, my best friend, my wife
If you are reading this, I’m no longer in your life
Through powers not of my own
I will never make it home
I want you to always know
You will never be alone

I will watch your from the sky
I will be the tear in the corner of your eye
I will be the sun shinning down
And the grass on the ground
When you shut your eyes to sleep
I will cover your body like the sheet

When you're driving your car
Know, I will never be far
When you look at our son’s face
I will be there in that place
When he grows into a man
Make sure he knows who I am

I love you with all my heart
And I’m sorry we had to be apart
I hope you know why I went
It wasn’t just to pay the rent
I fought and died for you two,
And the red, white and blue.
