Hotel California
I never dreamed...

Last thing I remember, I was running for the door,
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before,
"Relax," said the nightman, "We are programmed to receive,
You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave."

-Hotel California
The Eagles

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever realize just how true these words would become to me, especially the last line...You can check out anytime you like, but you can ever leave. It is true.

Ever since I wrote that stanza into my story, my life has never been the same. I always loved the song. It had an eerie effect on me, sending me into an almost trance-like state whenever I heard it.

But now, it plays and I'm back with the Master. No matter where I am it transports me back into his "embrace" to experience whatever pain/pleasure he has in mind for me or to a scene we have already shared. The melody plays and my body responds...no matter what I am doing or where I am. That can be rather disconcerting, depending on where I am at the time because my response can be quite strong.

To help my writing along I created a music file to inspire me; top on the list is Hotel California. The file is an odd mixture of classical to contemporary and beyond, each song reminding me somehow of the Master. Can't quite explain it. It just happens that way. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on the circumstances, each song inspires me, in more ways than one.

So, where the Master will lead next, only time will tell. I'm still just along for the ride and a real fun one it has been at that. Join me, won't you? The fun, I have a feeling, has only just begun.
