Woman at the Tomb

Don't look back,
Magdalene,
the tomb is empty.
Risen,
they say he has risen
his natural body flown from the cold limestone grotto.
So remain,
disciple, companion, more than mere wife,
walking in glory and gnosis
with the learned, gentle Nazorean.
Go forward now.
Speak and defend his life.
Bear witness to his vision of God's Kingdom.
History will label you whore, perhaps a pregnant vessel.
But your traumatic grief over this injustice
initiates a theological leap--the resurrection has already begun.
Don't look back.
