Book Bag Girl
a poem about single life

Guys carrying around bookbags
are never good,
they're either carrying their baggage
or ready to move
in a moment's notice,
so that's why I can't date you,
You bookbag wearing freak!
You start walking over to my booth
with that cigareete behind your ear
hoping that I actually care,
I smile and tell you
before you get a chance to say hello
that you look like Johnny Carson
you say "thanks"
and smile as if
that was a compliment
then i said, "Now, that he's dead."
You look at me and laugh
saying that I have quite the nerve
talking like tat
but the truth is:
when you left
I felt a sudden twinge
that if I was nicer to you
I could've liked you,
and I wonder why
i can never find a boyfriend
who would treat me like the princess
that I'm not
so I leave the diner with my bookkbag in hand.
