summertime's passenger
gracefully floating
human water lily
beach statue
secondary states found
sipping relaxing oblivion
rosé wine numbness

holiday bank account depleted
first class flight, hotel, restaurants
parading new seasonal garments
local handmade jewelry
gold framed malachite
henna tattoos
perfecting an image
she later glues in her mind's
scrapbook of life

desired weeks searching for freedom
elapsed too quickly
weary hearted homecoming
resigned to closeting
those bikinis and diaphonous gowns
glowing suntan is proof enough
though few will ever notice
so, continue wearing these baubles
carrying photo albums
unique conversation pieces, maybe
prolonging a dreamlike
summer voyage
into momentary bliss
