All I Need Is Your Love
Yearning— A burgeoning moment of longing threatens to spill across my tongue in words deserving your ears. I fear you are unprepared for my willing utterances, instead, dismissing them as alms of charity to your heart. Wanting— Precious time evaporates when waiting, wishing I could hold captive this evanescent encounter. A simple change is my request, some brief moment while our love waits to bloom. Wondering— I am left bereft of sane thought. Do the dim embers of desire not awaken a flame within you? For what is this promise kept, that I should continue opening my heart to a stranger’s love? Ignoring— The void between us grows when you push me aside. Is this your desire—for me to drown in a sea of forbidden tears, cast from shore, adrift without hope of coming home? Fearing these feelings are just lies I tell myself, as your emptiness consumes my existence, I am left without emotional sustenance, denied again … for all I need is your love.
