a slow to calm four a.m. agitation few will admit the party is over drinks on me champagne, beer, whiskey Perrier for those overly joyous we've laughed, certain people cried new year's parties always favor misty eyed resolutions toasted promises may possibly be kept in solitary moments of gushiness~ men tapping shoulders women lending lace hankies~ "Auld Lang Syne" repeats drunkenly fervor guaranteed time ticks irrevocably tomorrow after several hours' sleep well steeped black coffee, calmer family festivities with tender goodwill speeches wait patiently… afterwards ordinary celebrations resume but January First pledges, forever constant, bring ever changing life New Year's Eve 30 june, 2006 (winner 6/30 Poetic Paradise Daily Contest) (100 words, no repeats)
