How long is it until I can go out on my own?
See the world, and all it's wonders?
How long until I get to look after myself?
How long until I leave the nest?

How long until I have to leave a mother's protective arms?
Until I don't have anyone to look after me?
I'm scared Mother, don't let me go out
Into the darkness of the unknown.

So I am of age now
Yet it does not feel that way
I have looked after myself for so long now
Does it really matter that Mother has never been there for me?

Yet, once we get used to it
I'm sure all three of us will agree
It is good to get
