Clutching nothing but the memories Of her once upon a time A fantasy that fades so quickly Now seen only by the blind She stands before the doorway Of a love that's long been shut Perhaps 'twas never opened Thinking that'd be just her luck Angel's waiting in the rain With no hope held in her heart She turns and walks away Both love and life are torn apart Now it's her turn to extinguish The dreams of loved ones in her life With heavy heart and tired hand She pulls the drapes, and says goodbye Author's Note: A lot of people have questioned me about the "Angel's waiting in the rain" line, so let me explain. This poem was written for my friend, Elizabeth, whose online name was AngelCoon. Thus, her nickname was Angel. The line is saying that "She's waiting in the rain". But I used the pronoun 'she' too many times, and I wanted to mix it up a little. Sorry for any confusion.
