Devoured by flames their dwellings are now ash,
Provoked by bloodshed, their sons are ready to clash, Unable to see, refusing to reason Kings and Queens to proud to stop. Soldiers with patriotic blood, Wading in life's forceful floods Setting examples with their valour, Destroying all enemies in this path together. In unlit houses are mothers who stand, Praying in wavering voices, with trembling hands, To their Creator, The Almighty Allah they say: " Improve our lives and let peace and happiness come our way ' Men on borders stand alert, Reay to sacrifice their flesh and blood With life in hand and breath to count, In the hopes of taking revenge they move on. Throbbing hearts locked in cages, Wounds and death are their wages, Dooming their families to poverty and destruction, They leave their homes for their country's protection. Hailing visitors with swords to greet, Dressed in armour of shining steel, Stabbing beings whose purposes are same Do not they feel any shame ? Clans and kinsmen mournful but brave, Seeking honour push their sons towards the grave, Slaughter is goring emotions and people, Satan calls out to every hidden evil. Can death and massacre determine a win ? Is not killing the greatest sin ? With ways so evil it is peace that you pursue, Is not war itself a terrible issue? Who is the victor and who has lost ? When in from every home a human paid a heavy cost, Ask the widow who harbours a dead husbands grief, Who has won and who faced defeat ? Everywhere you see there is a grave, Now there is a tomb for the person whose sight you craved, Come take a look are you so brave ? The name of your loved one on a tomb stone is engraved. A weeping child is everywhere you turn, Bereaving the death of a brother who has not returned, One of them in prayer, with his head touching the ground, Prays as you turn around ' O, Almighty Allah Make this world a peaceful place, Bless us with kinder hearts and the capability to make a fresh start.
